WIT kicks off its 2024/2025 season on October 5ᵗʰ with a double feature of Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience and Red Tape.
Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience (aka "TGIF") is our improvised 90s sitcom, where beloved classics like Full House and Family Matters get a uniquely improvised (and Canadian) spin! This beloved show is returning to the stage after a sold-out 2023/2024 run and a wildly-popular string of shows at the Ottawa Fringe.
"These are expert improvisers taking you on an unexpected hilarious and touching journey. DO NOT MISS!"
"Nostalgic for a 90s sitcom that never even existed!"
Come learn about your new favourite sitcom family... at the same exact moment the actors learn who they'll be playing that night. :)
This double bill also includes the premiere of Red Tape, our brand-new comedy set in the world of government work. Watch the relentless fairness of Ottawa's biggest employer meet the surreal, off-kilter whimsy of narrative improv. Fans of Terry Fallis, Parks & Recreation and The Thick of It will feel right at home watching hard-working employees implement policy for the Canadian people.
Some comments from folks who saw the preview:
"Very interesting concept... It was hilarious!"
"It revels in the absurdity innate to bureaucracy. It recognizes and celebrates the service that defines the public service."
This kick-off double bill is on October 5ᵗʰ at 7pm at the Atelier at Arts Court and tickets are available now!
